Timeline

1990:  Nash Holos debuts on AM1470 CJVB, under the auspices of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress-BC Provincial Council. Co-hosted by Paulette MacQuarrie with Eugene Lupynis and Bohdan Zajcew.

1996:  Nash Holos breaks the record for the longest-running Ukrainian radio program in the history of BC. Goes off the air.

2000:  Nash Holos resumes broadcasting at the request of radio station AM1320 CHMB Vancouver. Sole host: Paulette (Pawlina) Demchuk MacQuarrie

2001:  Launched Nash Holos website (www.nashholos.com)

2002:  Nash Holos begins podcasting, posting weekly audio archives on website.

2007:  Nash Holos receives Roger Charest Sr. Award for Broadcast & Media Arts. Breaks record for the 2nd time for the longest-running Ukrainian radio program in the history of BC.

2010:  Nash Holos is internationally syndicated by PCJ Radio International until PCJ ended operations in 2020.

2011:  New live edition of Nash Holos launches on CHLY 101.7FM Nanaimo

2016:  NCRU (National Campus Radio Association of Canada) names Nash Holos best show in third-language category.

2020:  Nash Holos celebrates 3 milestone anniversaries:

• 30th – AM1470 CJVB Vancouver – inception and debut (1990-96)
• 20th – AM1320 CHMB Vancouver – return to airwaves on AM1320  (2000–present)
• 10th – PCJ Radio Int’l syndication to 20+ countries on AM, FM, shortwave, satellite

2021: Nash Holos celebrates 10th anniversary in Nanaimo

2024: Nash Holos launches its first publication, Ukrainian Food Flair: Authentic Recipes from Canada’s West Coast

2025: Nash Holos celebrates 2 milestone anniversaries:

• 35th – AM1470 CJVB Vancouver – inception and debut (1990-96)
• 25th – AM1320 CHMB Vancouver – return to airwaves on AM1320  (2000–present)

2026: Nash Holos celebrates 15th anniversary in Nanaimo
